Lack of Electricity is what caused Japan Nuclear Disaster, should we close our plants that rely on electricity?

I am all for Nuclear energy as long as it is safe. Considerations must be taken for safety 1st. Japan had earthquake resistant plants and had terrorist plans but there wasn't anything in the books that would account for failure of power to grid and that is what caused this disaster, not the quake itself but the lack of power to pump coolant. Should the USA look at our plants and if they have this same problem, take them offline till it can be fixed?
