SRS LIGHT CAME ON 2002 CIVIC.NEVER HAD ANY ACCIDENT.WHAT IS THE CAUSE?HELP?

when i use my keyless entry it did not make any beep.after that when i started the engine i noticed that the SRS light stayed on steadily.I never been in any accident so iam wondering why my SRS light came on.PLS HELP i always drive in the freeway
