Yes, this is a great trade for you. You will be gaining a solid back in Smith, and Calvin Johnson is a beast. Plus you could use a top-tier WR. Taylor's situation (in NE, not BUF) is not a good one fantasy wise, he shares touches with 2-3 other RBs per game. Also, Slaton, who may bounce back after a slow start, has not been getting as many looks as most people thought he would this season. Do it for sure.
