Did that Tiger press conference seem weird and stupid?

It was like he was a President of the country or something! Very very strange! I think that what he did was very wrong, I am not defending him. Tiger always came off as very y and arrogant to me anyway. But, .... a TELEVISED NEWS PRESS CONFERENCE???! Geez! Was all that necessary?! The word is, is that the PGA made him do it because they are losing a LOT of money with Tiger gone. I can see that, Tiger was WHO most people came to see play. Tiger was the one whose clothing line was selling like hot cakes.
